Description

A festive 4th of July trifle layered with cream cheese whipped filling, fresh strawberries and blueberries, and soft pound cake. Easy to make and perfect for patriotic parties.


Ingredients

1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 ½ cups cold heavy whipping cream

12 oz strawberries, hulled and sliced

6 oz blueberries

8 oz pound cake or ladyfingers, cubed

Optional: strawberry jam or berry compote

Extra berries for garnish

Fresh mint leaves (optional)


Instructions

1. Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.

2. Add vanilla and slowly whip in cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

3. Rinse and slice strawberries; rinse blueberries.

4. In clear cups or a trifle dish, layer cake cubes.

5. Spoon cream mixture over cake.

6. Add berries; repeat layers as needed.

7. Optionally spread a thin layer of jam between cake and cream.

8. Top with cream, garnish with berries and mint.

9. Chill at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Can be made 6–12 hours in advance.

Use any berries or fruit you prefer.

Try angel food cake or lemon loaf for variation.
