Ingredients
Lava Cake Batter
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (cut into pieces)
- 1 egg (large)
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 tbsp sugar (granulated)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (pure)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Optional Toppings
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
- vanilla ice cream (for serving)
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and butter together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Whisk in the egg, egg yolk, sugar, and vanilla until well combined.
- Gently fold in flour until just combined. Grease ramekins and divide batter evenly.
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C). Place ramekins in the basket and air fry for 7-8 minutes until edges are firm and center is gooey.
- Let cool 1 minute, run a knife around edges, invert onto plates, and serve with powdered sugar or ice cream.
Notes
For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of espresso powder to the batter. Best enjoyed warm!
