Description

A fun and messy birthday cake designed to look chaotic with vibrant colors and playful decorations.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Assorted food coloring (bright colors)
  • 1 cup rainbow sprinkles
  • 2 cups whipped cream or frosting
  • Assorted candies for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk, mixing until smooth.
  5. Divide batter into separate bowls and mix in different food colors.
  6. Randomly spoon colored batter into pans. Swirl lightly with a knife.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  8. Frost cake with whipped cream or frosting. Cover with sprinkles and candies.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring for brighter colors.
  • Let cake cool before frosting to prevent melting.
  • Get creative with decorations—no rules!
