A fun and messy birthday cake designed to look chaotic with vibrant colors and playful decorations.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Assorted food coloring (bright colors)
- 1 cup rainbow sprinkles
- 2 cups whipped cream or frosting
- Assorted candies for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Alternate adding flour mixture and milk, mixing until smooth.
- Divide batter into separate bowls and mix in different food colors.
- Randomly spoon colored batter into pans. Swirl lightly with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Frost cake with whipped cream or frosting. Cover with sprinkles and candies.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for brighter colors.
- Let cake cool before frosting to prevent melting.
