Description

This Chicken and Gravy is the ultimate comfort food! Tender, juicy chicken smothered in a rich, flavorful gravy. Perfect served over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits!

Ingredients

Chicken and Gravy Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (pounded to even thickness)
  • 1 tsp salt (for seasoning)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp butter (for cooking the chicken)
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for thickening the gravy)
  • 2 cups chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder (adds depth of flavor)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sprinkle in the flour and whisk for 1 minute to cook out the raw flavor.
  4. Gradually add chicken broth while whisking, making sure to incorporate the flour smoothly. Add garlic powder and onion powder.
  5. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the gravy thickens. Return the chicken to the pan and coat with gravy.
  6. Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra richness, stir in a tablespoon of heavy cream at the end! Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
