Refreshing homemade cherry iced tea perfect for hot summer days
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 3 black tea bags
- 1 cup fresh cherries (pitted and halved)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 lemon (juiced)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan
- Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes
- Remove tea bags and let tea cool
- Meanwhile, mash cherries with sugar in a bowl
- Combine mashed cherries with cooled tea
- Add lemon juice and stir well
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours
- Serve over ice with mint garnish
Notes
- Adjust sugar to taste
- Can substitute frozen cherries if fresh unavailable
- Strain mixture before serving if preferred
- Tastes best when chilled overnight
