Description

A sweet and spicy snack combining gingerbread flavors with caramel-coated popcorn.


Ingredients

  • 10 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Spread popcorn evenly on the baking sheet.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  4. Add brown sugar, molasses, corn syrup, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Stir until smooth.
  5. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes without stirring.
  6. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda.
  7. Pour caramel over popcorn, mixing gently to coat.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  9. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
