Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 medium Honeycrisp apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch baking pan.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, then mix well.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture.
- Fold in diced apples and pour batter into the pan.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Mix powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon for the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over the cooled cake before serving.
