Description
A delicious roast chicken or tofu dish glazed with sweet maple syrup, perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken (or 1 block firm tofu)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, pepper, salt, and thyme in a bowl.
- Coat the chicken or tofu evenly with the glaze.
- Place in a roasting pan and cook for 45-50 minutes (chicken) or 25-30 minutes (tofu), basting occasionally.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For crispier skin, broil for the last 2-3 minutes.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup.
- Serve with roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
