Description

A delicious roast chicken or tofu dish glazed with sweet maple syrup, perfect for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (or 1 block firm tofu)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried thyme


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, pepper, salt, and thyme in a bowl.
  3. Coat the chicken or tofu evenly with the glaze.
  4. Place in a roasting pan and cook for 45-50 minutes (chicken) or 25-30 minutes (tofu), basting occasionally.
  5. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For crispier skin, broil for the last 2-3 minutes.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup.
  • Serve with roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
