Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For frosting: 1/4 cup browned butter, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tbsp milk


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and maple syrup, then add egg and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, fold in walnuts.
  5. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheet, bake for 10-12 minutes.
  6. For frosting: brown butter, mix with powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  7. Frost cooled cookies.
