Description
A tangy and crunchy pickled red cabbage slaw that adds color and flavor to your meals.
Ingredients
- 1 small red cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black peppercorns
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Combine vinegar, water, sugar, salt, peppercorns, mustard seeds, and bay leaf in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Place sliced cabbage in a large bowl.
- Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the cabbage.
- Let it cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
- Serve chilled as a side dish or topping.
