Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, cream, and egg.
- Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in cheddar and chives.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and shape into a 1-inch-thick circle.
- Cut into 8 wedges and place on baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.

- Use cold butter for flaky texture.
