Description

A rustic and elegant dessert featuring spiced pears and almonds in a flaky pastry, served with homemade vanilla bean ice cream.


Ingredients

  • 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup vanilla bean ice cream


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix almond flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on the prepared baking sheet. Spread almond mixture evenly, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Arrange pear slices over the almond mixture. Fold edges of pastry over the pears.
  5. Brush pastry edges with egg wash and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
