Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Toppings

  • pastel sprinkles or sanding sugar for rolling
  • 24 chocolate kiss candies unwrapped and chilled

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each in sprinkles and place on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes until just set. Remove from oven and gently press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
  • Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For the best results, chill the chocolate kisses beforehand so they hold their shape after pressing into warm cookies.
