Ingredients
Pasta Base
- 12 oz pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp butter (unsalted)
- 1 cup heavy cream (for extra creaminess)
- 1 cup parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream, stirring continuously. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in parmesan cheese, black pepper, and salt. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat. If needed, add reserved pasta water a little at a time to reach the desired consistency.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately!
Notes
For extra flavor, add cooked chicken or shrimp! You can also sprinkle red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
