Description

A plant-based alternative to pulled pork using jackfruit. It mimics the texture and flavor of traditional pulled pork.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans young green jackfruit in water or brine (drained)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
  3. Add drained jackfruit to the skillet. Break it apart with a fork.
  4. Stir in barbecue sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve warm on buns or as desired.
