Description
Crispy Korean fried chicken made in an air fryer for a healthier version.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken wings or drumettes
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and ginger powder in a bowl.
- Coat chicken pieces in the flour mixture.
- Dip each piece in cornstarch for extra crispiness.
- Place chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 12 minutes, flip, then cook for another 10 minutes.
- Mix soy sauce, honey, gochujang, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and minced garlic in a bowl.
- Toss cooked chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
- Adjust cooking time based on chicken size.
- For extra crispiness, spray chicken with cooking oil before air frying.
